
Stephanie Shumway
Ballet

Born and raised in Amherst, MA, Stephanie Shumway began her dance training at 3 years old in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and hip-hop. When she reached the age of 14, she developed a deep passion for ballet and started training under the direction of Noble and Ruth Barker. She then went to dance for the Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program and worked with choreographers like Director of Boston Ballet Mikko Nissinen, Jennifer Glaze, Margaret Tracey, Katrina Killian, Carlos Molina, and Tamara King.
Stephanie now loves to teach and choreograph in all styles of dance. She got her certification in levels 1-3 of the Vaganova Syllabus and T-Spheres Injury Prevention. In her down time, she works as a Licensed Massage Therapist, helping dancers better under the anatomy of their bodies and strength.
